M.K.Davis developed an interest in the Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film, while pursuing astro-photography. Astro-photography is the discipline of taking space photographs through a telescope. M.K. owns two large telescopes that are outfitted for space photography. Astro-photography often involves unusual methods of film development and analysis. It was when M.K. recognized that some frames that he had seen from the film, had been treated in much the same way that an astro-photograph might have been, and that the frames were much improved, he decided to look for the better copies of the film. The general rule is that you can’t get a good print, from a bad film. Yet … good prints did exist. So began an effort that was to last for 25 years. M.K. has participated in various expeditions across the country, and has traveled to Bluff Creek in northern California, where the famous film was taken. M.K. has produced some of the very best versions of the Patterson bigfoot film. M.K. lives in Mississippi and is 64 years old. Long time MUFON board member Tom Whitmore had been a San Antonio Texas resident since 1984. Originally from Tulsa, Tom graduated with a degree in business administration from Portland State University and had a career in the financial industry since the 1970’s. He was most recently employed as a financial analyst with a local firm in San Antonio where he retired in 2019. He is an accomplished guitarist and has a daughter who is a pre-school teacher. Tom was invited to join the MUFON board in 1995 and experienced the organization’s progress through the successive administrations of Walt Andrus, John Schuessler, James Carrion, Clifford Clift, Dave McDonald and Jan Harzan. He serves as Treasurer and focuses on long term and strategic issues for the organization. Tom has been fascinated by military and intelligence agencies’ interactions with the UFO public. He has undertaken a research study of the history of the MJ12 affair, and intends to eventually publish his findings. Thornton D. "TD" Barnes, author and entrepreneur, grew up on a ranch at Dalhart, Texas. He graduated from Mountain View High School in Oklahoma and embarked on a ten-year military career. He served as an Army intelligence specialist in Korea and then continued his education while in the US Army, attending two and a half years of missile and radar electronics by day and college courses at night. Barnes deployed with the first combat Hawk missile battalion during the Soviet Iron Curtain threat before attending the Artillery Officer Candidate School, where an injury ended his military career. During his extensive professional career, Barnes was a field engineer at the NASA High Range in Nevada for the X-15, XB-70, lifting bodies and lunar landing vehicles; working on the NERVA project at Jackass Flats, Nevada. He was a member of a special projects team at Area 51 for the Central Intelligence Agency. Barnes later formed a family oil and gas exploration company, drilling and producing oil and gas and mining uranium and gold. Barnes is currently the CEO of Startel, Inc., a landowner, and is actively mining a quarry for landscape rock and gold in Nevada. He is the president of Roadrunners Internationale, an association of Area 51 veterans, and is the executive director of the Nevada Aerospace Hall of Fame. Two National Geographic Channel documentaries feature Barnes: Area 51 Declassified and CIA--Secrets of Area 51.
